The rune system and combat is fun but all classes get to equip some broken weapons and the passives don't really set them apart too much cause those broken weapons are by far the most important part and carry all the actives. The procedurally generated maps always have the same biomes and enemies just moves around. It's session based and a bit of a roguelite the problem is at least is Saga there are very specific ways of doing things in order to make it to the end.Īll the random bits don't really change how you play. You are constantly rushed so we know this isn't a sit back, chill, level up type survival. Aside from some jank I've had a really good time and I'll still enjoying my time with it however there are a few glaring design choices that make me wonder how much longer I'll keep playing it. I now have 18 hours in the game and can give a fair opinion on it. It just seems shortsighted and the opposite of a player-first approach. Then you could allow the game to be played offline, but award no battle pass XP, however allow players to complete feats like unlocking classes. You could track battle pass and premium cosmetic progression server-side, and then local challenges, and whatnot, locally.

There's no reason that the game isn't offline playable. The fact that already, within 2 days there are moments where I've wanted to play but can't, make it evident that this structure hurts, not helps the user experience. I already wondered why a game like this felt as though it needed a battle pass and a store front. I do enjoy playing the game, but I wouldn't have supported this in hindsight. But not here, it's a completely offline game, with a battlepass and online-mandate clunkily forced over the top of it. When you open your loot in Destiny, it checks what you have on the server, when you drop a loot reward, it distributes it from the server.

In games like Destiny, Warframe and the like, you can forgive the fact that those games are online because it's evident that the core of the game is built with online-networking in mind. the battle pass and the store? Seriously fuck that. It's pretty evident that the game is fully playable offline, but just forced-online for the sake of. if not for the fact that there was a huge pop-up on the screen which read 'offline for maintenance'. The funny thing is, I was able to load into a solo game mode and play just fine. That became evident today when the devs took the game down for 2 hours for maintenance.
